Dry ice blasting utilizes a three step process to clean surfaces. Kenetic, thermal and sublimation are three steps that make dry ice blasting revolutionary. Kenetics is when rice size high density dry ice pellets pushed by compressed air strike a surface at sonic speeds loosening contaminants. Thermal effects of the cold tempatures of dry ice lower the surface tempature to break the bond between the surface and contaminants. Sublimation is when the dry ice pellets hit the surface and turn to a gas which increases the volume 700-fold lifting the contaminants off the surface.
